Pop into G Lounge on a Tuesday night and you’ll find a bevy of boys writhing and grinding to your viewing pleasure. And who’s that providing the sensual soundtrack to the striptease bordello? Out gay rapper and Boybox promoter/DJ Cazwell provides the sensual soundtrack to the striptease bordello, helping wrangle the Boybox beauties with body-rocking beats and delicious grooves.

Bringing a naughtier burlesque vibe to the traditionally stiff-collared Chelsea scene may intimidate some, but Cazwell—from Massachusetts—the first state in the country to legalize same-sex weddings—was up for the task. “More than anything, I want to inspire people to have a good time,” he has said and it explains why he punctures nightlife’s usual Tuesday night tedium with everything from ‘80s grooves, classic gay icon anthems and contemporary cuts from across the genre board.

No stranger to the spotlight, Cazwell’s last album “Get Into It” profiled his wild child persona with hit tracks like “I Seen Beyonce at Burger King.” He’s performed with pop princess Lady Gaga and in the “True Colors Tour,” alongside Rufus Wainwright, Cyndi Lauper and Margaret Cho. None of that, fortunately, distracts him from turning it out Tuesday nights. In all Cazwell does, he drives home the fact that what he wants is to have a good time. At Boybox, it’s by tossing the tunes that make you want to do the same.
